Assistant Principals

Hello Jefferson County High School students! It's Mr. Higdon aka Mr. H and I am excited to serve as one of your new Assistant Principals this year! As many of you know and remember, I taught over at JCMS for many years! Some fun things you may not know about me! I graduated from JCHS myself and have lived in Louisville, Wrens and Wadley over the years. My very first job was at the Ingles in Louisville! For college I attended Georgia Southern and Augusta University for my degrees and came back to teach here in JC! I am married with three kids and also serve as a volunteer firefighter in my local community! I have many hobbies and so what free time I have I enjoy lifting weights, hunting, fishing, watching anime and even playing some video games sometimes! My favorite Bible verse at the moment is Hebrews 12:1-2 and I am super involved with my church! I am blessed to be able to come and serve you all as you strive to attain your goals, graduate with that diploma and go as far as you can dream this year at JCHS! Go Warriors!

Inspired by the wisdom of my grandmothers and the dedication of my teachers, I knew early on that I wanted to make a lasting impact in the lives of students. With over 25 years in public education, my excitement for the first day of school remains as strong as ever. It is a true honor to serve as an assistant principal at Jefferson County High School, where we stand united as one tribe and one nation, proudly embracing our identity as Warriors. Outside of school, I enjoy listening to audiobooks on Audible and spending time outdoors with my husband, John, and our
three children—Arianna, Amyra, and Asher. I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and the power of education to break down barriers and open doors of opportunity for all.
